  3. Best selling novel of 1960 • The leapord by Giuseppe TomasidiLampedusa • Plot:Most of the novel is set during the time of the Risorgimento, specifically during the period when Giuseppe Garibaldi, the hero of Italian unification, swept through Sicily with his forces, known as The Thousand. The plot focuses upon the aristocratic Salina family, which is headed by the stoic Prince Fabrizio, a consummate womanizer who foresees the upcoming downfall of his family and the nobility in Italy as a whole but is unable to act upon this. • Autherbio:Tomasi was the last in a line of minor princes in Sicily, and he had long contemplated writing a historical novel based on his great-grandfather, Don GiulioFabrizioTomasi, another Prince of Lampedusa. After the Lampedusa palace was bombed and pillaged by Allied forces in World War II, Tomasi sank into a lengthy depression, and began to write Il Gattopardo as a way to combat it. • My opinion it’s a great captivating book you'll learn of the history of the state and of being a prince

  8. Being a teenager in 1960 • Many used to be teens say that life was a lot simpler then there was less electronics and every thing was done the old fashioned way there was less violence and drugs so kids could say out later and for extra curricular activities they went bowling or to a skating rink the fashion was simper then to super long skirts or long flared pants or the opposite super short shorts (hot pants) or short skirts . The hair styles were just as simple long head bands and colors ,lots and lots of colors but the best part of being a teen in the sixty's has to be Woodstock and rally's , peace rally's, and the music was syckadellic and tansy so every thing was laid back
