  3. Common: Japanese stilt grass Scientific: Microstegium vimineum MIVI • Grass stem is ½-3.5 ft tall • Alternate leaf arrangement • Leaf is pale green with off-center middle vein

  4. Common: Multiflora roseScientific:Rosa multiflora ROMU • Alternate leaf arrangements (one leaf with 5 leaflets in picture) • 5-11 leaflets per leaf • Leaf edges serrated • White flowers with 5 petals bloom in early summer • Thorn-like prickles on stems • Long arching stems, can be vine-like

  5. Common: English ivyScientific: Hedera helix HEHE • Evergreen vine • Leaves are dark-green with light green veins (palmate arrangement) • Leaf shape is lobed with heart-shaped base

  8. Common: Autumn oliveScientific: Elaeagnus umbellata ELUM • Deciduous shrub • 3-20ft in height • Alternate leaf arrangement • Leaf has silvery, dotted underside • Leaf edges are usually wavy

Common: Japanese privetScientific: Ligustrum japonica LIJA • Evergreen • Opposite leaf arrangement • Leaves are leathery, oval with rounded base. • Leaf tip is tapering often with a sharp tip. • Leaves are two to four inches long and 1 to 2 inches wide. • Leaf margins entire and often yellowish rimmed. • Twigs hairless and pale green becoming brownish to reddish tinged.
