  2. Definition • Knowledge questions are questions about knowledge (not a specific topic) • What does that mean?

  3. Why do we ask Knowledge questions???? Why?????

  4. Asking yourself how do I know? That is a knowledge question! • More than “how do I know?” its more like • How do we know in Maths? • How do I know in Science? • KQ’s link concepts like WOKs, justification, culture, perspectives, truth, belief, experience, evidence, bias

  5. Step one… • 1) Take a real life example • A new government policy • An article on science or religion • A book • Something that happened to you or someone you know

  6. Step 2, brainstorm • Take the real life example and see how many angles you can approach it from • i.e. How doe religious people come to their beliefs? • Are religious beliefs reasonable? • How can reason be used to justify religious belief? ~ this is good

  7. For a good Knowledge question • Should be open- ended • Explicitly about knowledge (not the subject) • Should have TOK vocabulary and concepts • Precise in terms of relationships between these concepts

  8. Should we believe paranormal claims? ~An open ended question ~ Explicitly about knowledge Couched in terms of TOK ~vocabulary and concepts ~Precise in terms of relationships between these concepts Does the paranormal exist? What is a 6th sense? What type of question could you write in here? A film on haunting
