  5. What is cyber language? From the generalized point, cyber language refers to all the language used or related to the Internet and technology, just like "dial-up","net terrace","personal home page","sever","click" and so on. From the other narrowed aspect, cyber language means the words and sentences widely used on the Internet, the language said by netizens.

  6. How does cyber language form? Since 1990, especially 1995, our country has vigorously developed the research of network and interrelated applications. And such words become popular. At the same time, cyber language is widely used in the virtual world, such as chatting room, BBS forum, so on and so forth. With the time going on, it gradually comes to our real life nowadays. In a way, cyber language is a distinguishing mark for telling whether one keeps pace with the times or not. And among those users, the young takes up predominantly.

  7. Cyber language almost comes from dialect in different districts, foreign languages, abbreviation and partial tone. Then all the these parts are combined together to form this unique mixed language.

  20. Social Attitude Since Internet came into our life, the discussion on cyber language has never ceased. Sociologists, linguists, teachers and others dealing with languages show their fears of the new language phenomena and hold different views on it. Generally speaking, attitudes towards cyber language can be divided into two main types: negative attitude and positive attitude.

Positive Attitude • Since everything in the world is undergoing changes from the historical view, it is quite natural that our current-using language can’t escape the whirring, but experience some changes, even tremendous changes. • Cyber language enriches the traditional language by adding a large number of new words to describe new-emerging things and signifies a new language revolution.

  25. We should be tolerant about it. In fact, one language, which is still in service for mankind, is vivid and changeable. As long as the society opens up to the outside world, it will grow and there must be some new words come.

  26. Creative • Creativity is the largest feature of cyber language. It embodies in the changing use and creativity of vocabulary and breakthrough of normal grammars.

  27. Economical • Considering the fees and time of going on the internet, it has the feature of money-saving. We can easily understand and use them. For instance, GG, DD, PPMM, 1314.

  28. Vivid • Maybe influenced by the inspiration of Chinese word. People use some shapes to present their feelings.

  29. Humorous • Internet is often used by some interesting people. Most of them are relatively young and lively, so they create a relaxing and humorous atmosphere.

  30. Vulgar • Like the reality, people may abuse others on the Internet with some vulgar words. About this, some departments should make some rules to make a nice and pure environment.

  31. Choose to absorb • Recognize the reason of irregular language • Take a test on the new cyber language to form some basic rules of regular cyber language. • Some apartments stress to manage, test boycott and forbidden some irregular cyber language on the internet and forbidden them spreading into other areas. • Have a moral education to net citizens about the effect of cyber language.
