When children are so raised, they are on a path to reach their full potential as human beings. They are best prepared to become healthy, peaceful and productive adults. Parents and others who assume the awesome responsibility of raising children deserve the best possible parenting education, guidance and support. Love is not enough. The dangers of childhood and the pressures of modern family life require parents to be especially knowledgeable and skillful. It is in the best interests of our children and our nation for all parents to be educated and supported as fully as possible. In signing this petition, I am affirming the importance of advocating, celebrating and promoting effective parenting and parenting education.
