  2. Location My state is in the continent called North America its in the Midwest region of the United states’ Michigan’s capital is Lansing. Some of the states that surround my state are Wisconsin which is west to Michigan. Illinois also surrounds Michigan Its right between south and west of Michigan. Ohio is about right between being east and south of Michigan. The water that surrounds Michigan are Lake Superior , Lake Huron , Lake Michigan and Lake Erie. Now you know the location of Michigan.

  3. Fun Facts The state mammal is the White Tailed Deer. The state bird of Michigan is the Robin. The state reptile is the Painted Turtle. The state wild flower is the Dwarf Lake Iris. The state fish is the Brook Trout. The state tree is the White Pine. The state flower is the Apple Blossom. The state gem is the Isle Royale Greenstone. And finally the state stone is the Petoskey.

  4. Tourist Attractions In Michigan there are many tourist attractions. For example, Lake Michigan shore is known for its sand dunes like sleeping bear hill it reaches up to 500 feet tall! Scott Fountain is also a tourist attraction a very cool fountain with awesome multi color lights that look really cool at night. Another tourist attraction is to go to a Michigan college Wolverines hockey game. If you want to go to one then you better get tickets fast because they’ll all be gone before you can even say Michigan. And finally the last place that you can visit in Michigan is Fort Mackinac which is a living history museum that was built by the British in 1780. Those were some of the tourist attractions in Michigan.

  5. State History There has been lots of famous history in Michigan. Millions of years ago in Michigan volcanoes erupted all over the area. Some times shallow seas covered Michigan completely. Eventually during the ice age huge glaciers covered Michigan and moved down north. The glaciers dug holes that are know as the great lakes but the glaciers also left tons of other smaller holes that are know all of the smaller lakes in Michigan. At least 12 thousand years ago the prehistoric Indians reached the state of Michigan. The early Indians hunted deer and moose for there clothing and food. The Indians started to mine copper in the upper peninsula. On Isle Royale there is still ancient ruins from the old copper mine. There were American Indians or Native Americans that have lived in Michigan but in more recent times the Chippewas and the Menomineeeswere tribes that lived on the upper peninsula. And on the lower peninsula there lived the tribes called the Ottawas there was also a tribe called the Miamis and there was the Potawatomis. There was a tribe called the Wyandot that lived on both the upper peninsula and the lower peninsula. So now you know a little history on the wonerful state of Michigan.

  6. Natural Resources Have you ever wondered what some of the natural resources in Michigan are? Well if you have here are some of them. Cherries , apples , corn ,and blue berries. There are also grapes in Michigan which are my favorite. You can also find soybeans , strawberries , sugar beats , tomatoes , carrots , plums , peaches , wheat ,Christmas trees for the holiday season. You can also find lots of milk , hogs , turkeys ,and lastlybeef cattle. There is still a lot more natural resources to find in Michigan.

  7. Wildlife There are many animals that live in Michigan and here are some them. Deer , black bear , badgers , bobcats , beavers , there is also some weird animals called mink that live in Michigan. Porcupines also live in Michigan. There is also wolves , foxes , skunks , opossums , otters , raccoons , and coyotes , you can find all these animals in the woods. You can find these animals in in lakes and rivers but you can also find them in the sky for example there are many ducks , geese , owls , bald eagles ,and hawks , to find in Michigan. Now you can see that there are many wild life in the state of Michigan.

  8. Famous People There are many famous people from Michigan to learn about but I’m going to give you a quick summary of five of them. Dianna Ross was a famous person from Michigan she led a singing group call the “Lady sings the blues”. Another famous person from Michigan was Earvin “Magic” Johnson who was a pro basketball player and the league MVP in 1987 , 1989 , and 1990. Joe Louis was also a famous person from Michigan he was a pro wrestler he held the heavy weight title for 12 years! That’s longer than any man had before. Bruce Catton was a famous person from Michigan to. He wrote books about the Civil War and the book he wrote called “Stillness at Appomattox” won the 1954 National book award. Madonna Louise Ciccone known as just Madonna was a very famous singer.

  9. Agriculture There is many agriculture in Michigan. There soil is very rich in Michigan that’s why they have so many natural resources. For example there is many apples in Michigan. They have a huge apple harvest every year in Michigan. You can also find lots of freshly picked grapes there. So now you know some of the agriculture in Michigan.
