  11. 1 District conducts a comprehensive needs assessment to identify strengths and challenges 2 District determines Goals and Measurable Objectives for the identified need areas 3 Enter the identified Goals and Measurable Objectives in Goals Management

Districts will have to complete a minimum of 3 Goals 5 After the Goals are completed, district personnel must “Approve” the Goals for inclusion in the District Improvement Plan and the LEAPC 6 Exit Goals Management and re-enter through the District Improvement Plan to complete the other required components of the District Plan

  21. Measurable Objective Statement Example: The percentage of non-disabled students proficient on the MEAP will increase from 56% (2007-08) to 65%. The percentage of students with disabilities proficient on the MEAP will increase from 35% (2007-08) to 52% by the end of the 2009-2010 school year. Goals Management – Objective

Goals Management – Strategy Strategy Statement Example: Begin each statement with “Teachers/Staff will...” Use an action verb for an observable behavior “…engage in…” Address the issue and connect back to the measurable objective “…professional development related to informational reading and differentiated instruction.”

  25. Activities and Fiscal Resources • Approval of the LEAPC is not approval of any Activities or Fiscal Resources within Goals Management • Your federally-funded Activities and Fiscal resources are included in the Consolidated Application for approval

  29. Editing Goals/Objectives/Strategies • Once an LEAPC is submitted and is under review by MDE, goals/objectives/ strategies cannot be edited • When the application is back to the District, edits can be made as necessary • Final approved application is archived in a PDF

  30. Editing Goals/Objectives/Strategies • All goals information edited within Goals Management will affect the LEAPC • If you log-in later to amend your LEAPC, the system to alert you to which goals/ objectives/strategies have been edited; you will need to determine what exactly has been changed
