  2. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Awesome, rivetingBy CustomerYou will not be able to put this book down. I love Snake! I love how these books add more depth to the characters and their lives. On TV, as far as we know, we never hear from Snake's older brother Glenn again after he storms out of the house when his parents cannot accept his homosexuality. This book sort of goes into what happens after that. Snake is struggling with his own sexuality and trying to fit in at school. I hope those guys who beat up a homosexual get sent to jail; it doesn't really say whether they do. Snake thought he'd be king of the castle in grade nine, but it didn't turn out that way.He made the basketball team, but the team captain is out to get him booted off. The prettiest girl at Degrassi thinks he's a geek, his marks are falling and his brother has just announced that he's gay. Snake wishes for a magic solution, but finally he has to sort the mess out for himself.Based on the groundbreaking Degrassi Junior High television series, this book offers a sensitive and engaging look at the challenges of teenage life. "An engrossing read." (Anne Hatcher Resource Links)About the AuthorSUSIN NIELSEN, a Toronto writer, worked on the Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High series.
