  2. The award, established in 2003, is named for Rotary Club of Canton Rotarian Robert S. (Bob) Stubbs II, a longtime Rotary Club of Canton member, a USMC WWII veteran, attorney, law professor, and a leader in the local and state-wide legal community. • Awarded annually to a member of Rotary Club of Canton who exemplifies the attributes and passion for ethics in his or her vocation, business and personal life that Bob so exemplified. • The Guardian of Ethics Award was added as a District 6910 Award in 2008. The club nominee will be forwarded to District 6910 as Rotary Club of Canton's nominee for the District 6910 award.

Stubbs IIGuardian of Ethics Award Record of achievement through ethical and vocational contributions Record of achievement through ethical and vocational contributions The facility has won many awards including the Georgia Tech Research Institute award for “Lean Manufacturing” initiatives and performance. In May 2009, the plant was selected Supplier of the Year by Nordyne, one of the largest heating, venting and air conditioning manufacturers in the United States. • Mike became plant manager in 1990. A preferred workplace in the community, Morrison Products has created many high-quality jobs for the community. It is considered to be the most efficient, lean and profitable plant within the company and the industry.

Stubbs IIGuardian of Ethics Award Exemplifies the tenets of the 4-Way Test Exemplifies the tenets of the 4-Way Test Mike foster ethical practices not only through his roles as a business leader and elected official, but also through his many appointed and civic roles. • Mike lives by the motto of “Service Above Self” and the 4-Way Test. • Mike is known as “straight shooter,” who approaches all issues with fairness and a goal of building goodwill and benefitting the community.

Community contributions relating to ethics and vocation • Chairman, Georgia Education Coalition. • Board of Directors , Appalachian Technical College 9 years – 3 years as vice chairman. • V/P Cherokee Educational Enhancement Foundation • V/P Cherokee Learning Center which he co-founded and led for 10 years as president. • Chairman of the City of Canton Building Authority. • Member of the City of Canton Development Authority. • Member Chamber of Commerce since 1990 including terms as a board member from 2002 to 2005 and 2007 to 2009. • United Way county campaign chairman in 2006.

Other Leadership Roles • Mike has made great accomplishments while exemplifying the importance of a life of ethics and how it can lead to success for all involved. • During his time on the school board, the District has opened 10 new schools; obtained a triple A bond rating, earned the highest graduation test scores in the state; continually raised teachers pay. • A member of the G. Cecil Pruett Community Center Family YMCA Board of Directors • Member Canton First United Methodist Church. • A Rotary Club of Canton “Rotarian” since 1991
