Funds & Schedule Update • $1,172,112 (~$30,000 carried over) • Applications Due Wednesday, March 31st • Project Subcommittee - field visits, presentations April 20, 21 and May 4th, then recommendation report • KCD Grant Decision - July 15th Salmon Recovery Council Meeting Big grant programs decisions day!

  3. Overall Guidance • Implements Actions on the Plan Start-List – Tier I and Tier II • Consistent with WRIA 8 Conservation Strategy • Consistent with KCD Policies and Procedures • Consistent with Regional Funding Principles (1998 Regional Task Force)

  4. 2009 Guidance • Monitoring (non-competitive): • ~1/4 or 25% ~ $300,000 • Site-specific Projects: • ~2/3 or 67 % to 72% • Studies, Education & Outreach: • ~1/12 or 8% • Project Subcommittee will use its discretion to balance funding recommendations based on guidance and submitted applications.

  5. Example – How 2009 Grant Funds Were Allocated • Total Funds $1,358,800 • Monitoring Fish In / Fish Out (non-competitive): • Target ~25% - $308,758 (23%) • Site-specific Projects: • Target 67-72 % - $910,297 (67%) • Studies, Education & Outreach: • Target ~8% - $139,745 (10%)

SRC Decision 2010 Allocation Guidance Continue with 2009 Guidance ? • Monitoring – (non-competitive): • ~1/4 or 25% ~ $300,000 • Site-specific Projects: • ~2/3 or 67 % to 72% ~ $785K to $842K • Studies, Education & Outreach • ~1/12 or 8% ~ $94K • Project Subcommittee will use its discretion to balance funding recommendations based on guidance and submitted applications.
