  2. IHE 2006 – Nine Active Domains Over 200 vendors involved world-wide,7 Technical Frameworks 56 Integration Profiles, Testing at Connectathons Demonstrations at major conferences world-wide

  3. IHE Laboratory Integration Profiles Retrieve Information for Display Laboratory Scheduled Workflow Laboratory Information Reconciliation Provide users a single nameandcentralized authentication processacross all systems Updates resulting from unidentified or misidentified Patient Access a patient’s clinical information and documents in a format ready to be presentedto the requesting user Admit, Discharge, Transfer a patient, order lab tests, collect specimen, perform tests, report results. Point of Care Testing Provide users a single nameandcentralized authentication processacross all systems Patient Synchronized Applications Laboratory Code Set Distribution Extend laboratory testing with bedside testing devices Coordinated Order & Results Code Sets Mgt Patient Synchronized Applications Cross-Enterprise Lab Reports Sharing Lab Analyzer Management Extend laboratory testing with intra-lab testing devices Document to capture a structured lab report for historical access New Laboratory Tests Terminology New

  4. Patient Care CoordinationSharing of Medical Summary • What is a Medical Summary ? • Summary of Care Provided to a Patient, part of : • Summary of Episode • Discharge Summary • Transfer Summary • Documents the health status of a patient a point in time • Includes information such as: • Problems • Meds • Allergies • Plus, past procedures, history, etc. • Leverages Standards: HL7 CDA rel 2

  5. Patient Care Coordination • Medical Summary (XDS-MS) • Summary of Care Provided to a Patient, part of a Summary of Episode, Discharge Summary, Transfer Summary • Documents the health status of a patient a point in time • Includes information such as: • Problems, Meds, Allergies, Plus, past procedures, history, etc. • Basic Patient Privacy Consents (BPPC) • Emergency Department Referral (EDR) • Exchange of Personal Health Record Content (XPHR) • Pre-procedure History and Physical (PPHP)

  6. Patient Care Devices • Device Enterprise Communication (DCE)Supports consistent communication of vendor independent, multi-modality Patient Care Device data to Enterprise Applications using consistent semantics. Allow applications to filter particular PCD data of interest.

  7. Eye Care • Eye Care Workflow (EYECARE), • Charge Posting (CHG) • Eye Care Evidence Documents (ECED)

  8. Displayable Reports Create, finalize, archive, and distribute reportsready for display IHE Cardiology Integration Profiles Cath Workflow Echo Workflow Manage multi-modality synchronized procedure from admission to lab discharge including unidentified patients Manage echocardiography workflow Stress Testing Workflow New Retrieve ECG for Display Urgent Implementable Device Identification Distribute ECGs, including waveforms, measurements, and interpretation, for enterprise-wide display New Query on patient demographics for cardiac device info

  9. Patient Demographics Query Audit Trail & Node Authentication Cross-entrpse media interchange Cross-entrpse reliable pt-pt interchange Notification of Document Availability Document Digital Signatures Centralized privacy audit trail and node to node authentication to create a secured domain. Patient Synchronized Applications Patient Administration Management Patient Identifier Cross-referencing for MPI Map patient identifiers across independent identification domains Personnel White Page Access to workforcecontact information Consistent Time Coordinate time across networked systems IHE IT Infrastructure 2005-2006 Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing Registration, distribution and access across health enterprises of clinical documents forming a patient electronic health record New New Enterprise User Authentication Single user logon& centralized authentication Retrieve Information for Display Scanned Document New New Retrieve Form for Data Capture Capture data in an application for external secondary use

  10. IHE Radiology, what’s new • Nuclear Medicine Image Integration Profile (NMI) with Cardiac Option • Image Fusion (FUS) Integration Profile • Import Reconciliation Workflow (IRWF) Integration Profile • Mammography Image (MAMMO) Integration Profile • Radiology Audit Trail Option (ATNA-R) • Cross-enterprise Document Sharing for Imaging (XDS-I) • Teaching File and Clinical Trial Export (TCE) • White Paper: Departmental Workflow

  11. IHE at RSNA 2006 • At RSNA 2006, successful Demonstration of: • Cross-Enterprise sharing of imaging information (XDS-I) • Clinical Trial and Teaching File Export • 14 Companies participated plus one regional health information network. • Held both a centralized (InfoRad) and a decentralized (exhibit showfloor). • Many XDS-I projects around the world: • Canada (Toronto, Quebec, Alberta, British Columbia) • USA (Philadelphia Exchange, NY tender) • Japan (Nagoya Region) • Netherland (Amsterdam Region) • China (Shangai Region)
