Emotional Competence • Recognize what your feelings are and make sure to express them. • Use emotionally charged language • Recognize that you have a large spectrum of varying emotions • Recognize the difference between acting and feeling • Accept responsibility of your emotions • Choose the best time and place to display emotions • Be clear when you express your emotions

  7. Facilitative and Debilitative Emotions • Facilitative emotions help us function effectively. • Debilitative emotions are stumbling blocks and can come in degrees as well. • Long lasting debilitative emotions can harm us.

  8. How to get rid of Debilitative Emotions • Self – monitoring • What is the trigger? • Record your self-talk • Replace irrational thoughts with rational ones
