In this sample • 51% say they have a diagnosis of PTSD • 50% of the probable PTSD in this sample is undiagnosed • 53% say they have a diagnosis of depression • 40% say they have another anxiety diagnosis
People with 'probable PTSD' are: • 7 times as likely to have a diagnosis of depression • 5 times as likely to have another anxiety diagnosis • 5 times as likely to have a diagnosis of alcohol dependency
Over 90% of those who drink more than the guideline amount have ‘probable PTSD’
In this sample • 51% of those with ‘probable PTSD’ have suicidal feelings sometimes, often or very often. • 20% of those with ‘probable PTSD’ have serious suicidal feelings, being suicidal often or very often • Over 95% of those who sometimes, often or very often feel suicidal have ‘probable PTSD’
