  1. Credit Transfer Evaluation Steps University of Wyoming

  2. Step 1: From the Transfer resources home page, Select Credit Transfer & Evaluation

  3. Step 2: SelectTransfer Equivalency Database

  4. Step 3: Select the school From which you are transferring courses

  5. Step 4: Select the appropriate Data Set (Generally the most recent year) • ** If the course you want to evaluate is not listed under the most recent • catalog year, please check the other catalog years listedfor the course. • ** To view a different catalog year, select the VIEW ALL red link located to the right • of the page.

  6. Step 5: View the course you want to evaluate for transfer Laramie County Community College University of Wyoming ** This equivalency form indicates both Organic Chemistry I and Organic Chemistry Lab I must be taken at LCCC to receive credit for UW’s Organic Chemistry I course.

  7. Example 2 ** Research Problems in Biology from LCCC will transfer to UW as a General Transfer Elective. Laramie County Community College University of Wyoming

  8. Example 3 ** English I will transfer from LCCC to UW as College Composition and Rhetoric (ENGL 1010) Laramie County Community College University of Wyoming

  9. Step 6: select To determine if your class will meet USP requirements

  10. USP Requirements ** The underlined section designates how the ENGL 1010 course will fulfill a USP requirement for Writing I at UW.

  11. USP: University Studies Program • USPis the core curriculum or general education required by the University of Wyoming to complete your undergraduate degree. • For a description of the USP requirements, go to: http://www.uwyo.edu/unst/_files/docs/usp_2003_checklist.pdf

  12. Step 7: Select to create a list of courses you have evaluated

  13. My Equivalency List • You will be sent to My Equivalency List • Here you can view the courses you have evaluated

  14. Step 8: Select the TES View tab to Evaluate a different course

  15. Step 9: Select Back to return to the course list

  16. Repeat steps 6-9 UNTIL YOU HAVEselected and evaluated all courses you plan to transfer. Step 10: Select the next course You want to evaluate

  17. Step 11: Select or to Print or Email “My Equivalency List”

  18. Step 12: Return to the Transfer Resources Page

  19. Step 13: Select your College program

  20. Step 14: select Majors & Requirements

  21. Step 15: Select the Checklist for Your intended major

  22. Step 16: Print the Requirements Checklist

  23. Step 17: use your Equivalency List to Fill in the Requirements checklist • This checklist will help you determine what courses may transfer and what courses are left for you to complete.

  24. Transferring with an Associate’s degree From Wyoming • Students transferring to UW from any Wyoming community college with an Associate Degree of Arts, Science, or Business will have met the lower division USP 2003 requirements, except for the second math course and an upper division writing course. • Each College/Major/Program may have additional core course requirements. • Associate of Applied Science degree courses will be evaluated individually to determine transfer credit.

  25. Transferring with an Associate’s degree Outside of Wyoming • An AA/AS/AB degree will transfer to UW from the following Colorado and Nebraska community colleges and will meet USP 2003 requirements, except for asecond math course, an upper division writing course, and Wyoming Government. • Most Colorado Community Colleges • Western Nebraska Community College • Mid-Plains Community College • Colby Community College • Associate of Applied Science degree courses will be evaluated individually to determine transfer credit.

  26. Course credit • General elective courses are applied towards the total number of credit hours required for graduation. • A general elective course may also apply towards USP credit. • Courses below 1000-level or (generally) vocational tech courses will not transfer. • You may petition for a course to be re-considered for USP credit or major credit. For more information on petitions, contact your advisor.

  27. Transferring without an Associate degree • Students transferring without an AA, AS, or AB degree will have their transcripts reviewed by the Office of Registrar on a course by course basis. Students will be required to complete all USP core courses. • To qualify as a transfer student, students will need to have completed 30 or more transferable credit hours (after high school) and have at least a 2.00 cumulative grade point average. • If transferring with less than 30 transferable credit hours, high school transcripts must be sent to Admissions. Students under the age of 21 must also include ACT scores.

A dialogue box will appear.
