  8. We Get Personal Gear • CERT backpack • Helmet, goggles, gloves, vest • Medical supplies • Hydration backpack • Search & rescue supplies, sunscreen, insect repellant • Handheld radio • Etc.

  9. We Operate in Neighborhood Teams • 5-8 CERT members • Team Coordinator • Familiar with your neighborhood • Team picks a disaster assembly area

  10. Each Team has Team Supplies • More medical supplies • Spare batteries, flash lights • Blankets • Tarps • Pry bar, pliers • Backboard • Forms • Casualty identification tags • Much more…

  11. Communications • Communication among team members • Communication with LWR CERT communication hubs

CERT Central Communications • Several communication hubs in LWR • Equipped with team radios and FCC licensed high-power radio equipment • Keep in radio contact with all teams • Keep in high-powered radio contact with the County Emergency Operations Center • Relay damage and casualty information • Provide coordination support
