  1. Miss Northside Pageant “All Dolled Up” Friday, October 4th 7:00p.m.- 10:00p.m

Application Process • Sign Up Sheet is circulating- make sure you sign before you leave. • Only those who qualify will be eligible to receive an application in your first block classroom on Monday. • $30 Entry Fee • 250 word Essay – “The qualities or characteristics of the ideal “Miss Northside” • Poster required from each contestant

  3. Contestant Requirements • All applicants must not have any OSS assignments during the last two years • All applicants must not have any ISS assignments during the last year

  4. Awards • Miss Northside- • Crown, plaque, flowers and a $150scholarship • 1st runner up • plaque, flowers and a $75scholarship • 2nd runner up • plaque, flowers and a $50 scholarship • 3rd, 4th, and 5th place- • plaque and flowers • Additional Awards • Miss Congeniality (voted on by contestants) • Best Poster • Best Essay • Audience Favorite (to benefit Relay for Life)

Important Dates • Application Due to Coach Cornwell (Rm939) by Wednesday, September 11th. • Contestant Meeting Friday, Sept. 20th. • Pageant Posters due to Clay (917) or Styers (512) by Sept. 26th. • Poster’s to be hung in atrium the week of September 30th. • Opening Number Practice: Monday, Sept. 30th. 3:30-5:30 • Practice: October 1st -2ndin the auditorium 3:50-5:30 • Pre-Interview: Thursday, Oct. 3rd6:00-8:00 • Pageant: Friday, Oct. 4th7:00-9:00 • All dates are MANDATORY for participation

  7. Pre-Interview • Thursday, October 3rd • 6-8pm • Come dressed in your business attire • Judges will be asking each contestant a series of interview questions. • information about yourself • not on stage questions • Pageant interview is a face to face, close up appraisal of contestants

  8. What are the Casual Wear Requirements? • Make sure your outfit is comfortable and easy to move in • Don’t let your outfit overpower you • Short shorts and short skirts are never a good option • Look polished and represent your true sense of style • Remember: No bathing suits

  10. What are the Business Wear Requirements? • A skirt or pant suit, sleeveless or straight cut dress • Crisp and clean • Sharp and attractive • Beautiful and confident

  12. What are the Formal Wear Requirements? • Prom dressesor ball gowns • Dresses should have glitz and glamour • Fun and fancy • Unique, feminine, and beautiful • Flattering, slim cut, nothing baggy

  14. On-Stage Questions for the Top 10 Top 10 contestants will draw a question at random from a bowl and then be required to answer on the spot. Sample Questions: • What are some community activities that you are involved in? • What qualities do you look for in a friend? • Who is your greatest role model?

Poster Requirements • What should be included on your poster? • Your Name • Picture(s)- one must be a head shot • Grade Level • Answer 2 questions • Why should you be Miss Northside? • What things are you involved in? Make sure you show your creativity and have fun with it. Special AWARD for best Poster

  16. Will You Be the 2013 Miss Northside? Make sure you sign the interest form before you leave. If you qualify you will receive an application in 1st block on Wednesday, Sept. 4th.
