• Formulas are calculation expressions

• Starts with a “=”

• The formula expression is shown in the formula bar but the formula result is shown in worksheet

• They are organized in categories

• Use the “Paste function” button or “Insert  Function” menu

• Choose function

• Provide arguments

• Input by hand

• Pick by mouse

• By default the spreadsheets only show formula results

• Formula expressions can be shown in spreadsheets

• Menu Tools  Options, View tab, check option Formulas

• “Insert Chart” button or “Insert  Chart” menu

• 4 steps

• Select chart type

• Define source data and series

• Chart options: labels, legend and axes

• Create chart as: object or sheet

• Select source data range before starting the wizard

• Specify the series names and labels by cell references

• Make use of the preview
