Opted out systems 6 months ago ~4,000 opted out systems ~2,000 after data checked 1,320 staff contacted about opting back in 200 responded to stay opted out of which 120 still opted out after contacted in person by ICT 1,200 machines opted back into power saving Potentially saving 220 tonnes CO2 per year Leaves less than 1,000 opted out Opted out machines: Lab kit, long running experiments Data sharing (server) or processing long jobs 24x7

Power saving support Wake-my-PC service is available Few issues but generally working well Improved version will be released later in year Auto-sleep to be introduced soon increasing Windows XP success rate Users will turn it on at their discretion They can define number of minutes to go to sleep after Power league for departments - % of PCs left on overnight http://www.imperial.ac.uk/ict/green/powerleague/
