2. A.V.O These Troubled Times Question of the Week: What do you think of the new Auschwitz camp? Bruno: I like it but I don’t like it. I miss my friends, Karl, Daniel, and Martian, but if I leave I will miss my new friend, Shmuel. Gretel: Isn’t it obvious? I hate it! My only friend was Kotler and he transferred. I liked him! Now that I got rid of my dolls who am I supposed to talk to!? Grandmother: It includes my sons job, and since I hate my sons job, I hate the Auschwitz camp! Father: I don’t mind it but I don’t know why my family doesn’t like it. I need my job, without it I have nothing, its going to be complicated scince my only children and wife are going back to Berlin.

Bruno Shmuel Hitler Ralf “We have to work all day, and now I cant find my father, its horrible, I don’t even know why I'm here.” “Its fantastic, I'm very happy with what is going on, we will bring down all the Jews!” “It is great, its good to see everything is going well.” “I don’t get it, why are all the other kids on the other side of the fence? I just want to play but no one is on this side. I wish Shmuel was on this side.” A.S

4. These Troubled Times Question of the Week: What do you think of the new Auschwitz camp? “I’m in that camp and it’s terrible. I work all day and Kotler hits me all the time. I don’t really know why I’m here or why he hits me all the time.” “Everyone there is so skinny and I don’t think they get lots of food. I didn’t know it was that bad but it is. Shmuel is always bruised and sad.” “This camp was a great idea. I run this camp and it’s I think it’s good that Jews aren’t allowed with us, all they do is ruin our lives. The camp is the best thing that ever happened to Jews. I would never wan to be there. I don’t hit people I punish them. AH

5. These Troubled Times Question of the Week: What do you think of the new Auschwitz camp? I like the new camp because we can kill and store more Jews than the other camps. I think the camp is a marvelous idea so the Jews can’t bother us anymore. I don’t like it in here. I want to get out of here and be free. I want to kill the man who put us in here. I think the new camp was a very good idea because now we can concentrate all the Jews into one spot. CP

KOTLER: I believe that it is one of the best things that have ever happened to Auschwitz especially when therearelots of THEM around. BRUNO: I don’t know what the place is or why it’s there, but my buddy Shmuel is suffering and that’s about all I know RALF: I don’t really think much about the place anymore I just go and do my job then return as if nothing ever happened. I’d have a hard time labeling the place. SHMUEL: I absolutely hate this place, and believe everyone on this side of the fence does, and nobody should think of it any bit differently.

I think it’s not good at all. Why did we have to leave Berlin and come to this dump. I think it’s a great success and gives me more power and feared by others. It gets me one step closer to ruling the world. It’s a great job opportunity and maybe will give me a higher rank as a soldier. D.R.

8. These Troubled Times Question of the Week: What do you think of the new Auschwitz camp? This camp is a good way to separate the bad from the good. I certainly like it. I really don't know why they torture my kind. I am really upset about this! But why did my papa go missing? I really don’t understand but I think it’s a good way to talk to Shmuel. But is this why the Furry comes to my house? It’s amazing. Why would those scums live with us. It’s a wonderful idea. D.B

9. These Troubled Times Question of the Week: What do you think of the new Auschwitz camp? Ralf Pavel Shmuel Bruno I think it is a great idea. The people on the other side of the fence are just disturbing. We should stay separated from those Jews. We are different then them and should never talk to them and that’s why the new Auschwitz camp is a great idea. I think that it is a awful idea . To keep a bunch of nice people inside a cage . People over there should be given a chance to prove us wrong. Maybe they are nice and want to help us inside town . You don’t know cause’ you stuck them inside a fence and left them there. And that’s why it’s a terrible idea. I think that the camp is bad idea cause’ we are kept over here 24/7 and we want to help you but you don’t want us to come over there so we are stuck here doing work for you. I really want to come over and help you guys all the time but I cant. And that’s what I think about the new camp. I think that it is a bad idea. We are good people and mean no harm to you at all. If you would just let them out they could show you new things that you guys don’t know. They want to help you its just you think they are worthless and terrible. And that’s my opinion on this new camp. E.G

I don’t really know how its like I guess because I’ve only gone there to see my friend but he never seems to want to talk about it. I think that it is great now we don’t need those gross Jews around here any more I think it will be a pleasure having those Jews gone and not bothering my son! No one except my kind knows what it’s like. Itss filthy, and it’s horrible. They hit us more then they used to. K.H

That man Hitler thinks he is so tuff and better but boy would I want to teach him a lesson.” “The fence place makes no sense to me. Why do the people like Shmuel have to on the other side of it? And why do they have to wear their pajama’s all day? The fence is bad I think because the people are always getting hurt.” “The Auschwitz camp is the best thing on the earth. All the nasty Jews will be gone and we can live alone. Nobody ever liked them. Actually we all hate them so I am helping all you people.” “These people are rude, always beating us and taking us from our homes. When can I just go home? I hope Papa comes home soon. So then maybe we can leave this terrible place.” L.S.

12. These Troubled Times Question of the Week: What do you think of the new Auschwitz camp? I hate it! I had to leave my house, my fiend and my family is all over the camp. Now I have to obey ALL these soldiers why can’t I just go HOME?! I don’t really like it, why can’t the “Jews” come here or we go there to play with them? They don’t seem that mean. It is marvelous! We can have more Jews In the camp but now we need more soldiers to keep them all slaves. The Fuhrer will be so proud! I hate it, I would be there if I was not serving Bruno's family. My family is in the camp. I never get to see them if they are alive. M.A

13. These Troubled Times Question of the Week: What do you think of the new Auschwitz camp? This is a bad idea. Why would you want to keep innocent people in there? It’s basically a big prison. Why would you want to torture us we did nothing wrong? And what did you do with my father, Hitler? It’s an amazing idea to have the camp bigger is always better no matter what. I think its an awesome idea because a bigger camp means more Jews. MB

The camp is where every Jew should be. If they’re not there, they’re fat. I do not know what the fence is for but my friend Shmuel is not very happy with it and he is always hungry. Those creatures can wait their turn. Go Germans! I think it is fantastic. Our work is really progressing. It is a good way to Keep them all contained. Soon the whole entire Jewish race will be out of the picture. I don’t know…I just don't want it to be this way anymore. I don’t think we deserve this. No one deserves this. I miss my family and my old job. I wish to see them again. I just hate it. What they do to those people is cruel and horrible. I am so ashamed of my son. I don’t know what those people had to do, to get that kind of torture. M.R

Gretel Shmuel Mother Ralf (father) I don’t like it here, because I have no friends and I'm not even allowed to go to the camps to look for friends! I don’t like the camps because I want to be able to get out of the fence. I hate the camps, I hate the fence, and I hate Auschwitz! Of course I like the camps, all the Jews are separated from us and they are working in those hideous pajamas that make me laugh. I do not like the camps. I just wish that me and my children could just leave and go back to Berlin. This is no place for children!! pl

I hate them so much because if they weren’t made, me and Shmuel could play together and be best friends for life. I hate them because if they weren’t made I could still be a doctor at my home town with my family and friends. If the Jews were gone, my and family and I could have stayed in Berlin and had a nice life. I like it because I get to beat people and they can’t do a thing about it and because I’m a leader and every other worker is too. SS

One day me and my family were at home the next we were shoved into a hut with a lot of other families. Then we were brought here. I know I'm here because I’m a Jew but I don’t understand what that has to do with anything! Ralf Why I don’t see what's wrong with it we need these Jews gone forever. Do you want us to win this war or not? Gretel Well, my Mother and father seem to be okay with it so I suppose it’s all right Bruno I don’t understand why we have to be separated. What if someone ever found a nice Jew? SK
