RIL has been providing services and advocacy in Sacramento and Yolo counties since 1978. • Things I do: • facilitate a local consumer advocacy group called DOGFITE, which stands for Disability Organizing Group for Initiating Total Equality. We currently have about 30 members • member of the Sacramento County, Disability Advisory Commission, and Chair the Subcommittee on Housing • current Chair of Sacramento Regional Transit’s Mobility Advisory Council • member Transportation Equity Workgroup, for the Coalition on Regional Equity (a project of the Sacramento Housing Alliance)

  10. Some potential partners: • Council of Governments • Transit Agencies • Unions • Neighborhood Communities • Transit Advocacy Groups • Lawyers What group gets overlooked the most? Riders!

  11. What should those at the table, bring to the table? • Capacity • Skills • Information (White Paper Studies; Title VI) • Access to people (turn outs for events)

  12. How should goals be formulated? • Talk with the community • Surveys • Slicing the issue What is achievable?

  13. What Outcomes Are Best? • Measurable • Have a relationship to the goal • Are defined ahead of time • How to make an apparent defeat into a victory
