  2. Birth • Sara Evans was born in Boonville, Missouri

  3. Growing Up • Sara Evans grew up in New Franklin, Missouri • Sara Evans grew up with four brothers and sisters • Sara Evans was very poor growing up • Sara Evans performed in bars across Missouri to raise money for her family at young ages • June 21, 1979 – (5:30pm) Sara struck by a car in front of parent’s home, suffering two broken legs • July 26, 1979 – Sara leaves hospital in wheelchair after weeks in Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville – leaves with 2 garbage bags of toys, 336 cards, $131, and $10,000 hospital bill. Attempts to earn the money back by performing with her family band on weekends

  4. Marrige • Sara Evans married Craig Schelske • Sept 20, 1991 – Craig and Sara’s first date, after meeting at Holiday Inn • Sept 25, 1993 – Sara and Craig Schelske marry in Sara's hometown

Making Her Dream Come True • Fall 1995 – Sara and Craig return to Nashville where Sara begins recording demos for publishing companies • December, 1995 – Harlan Howard hears Sara singing a demo of his classic "I've Got a Tiger by the Tail," prompting the writer to bring her to the attention of RCA Records • March, 1996 – Sara auditions for RLG Chairman, Joe Galante. Sara sings "One Girl Cried," forgets the words, and still lands a seven-record deal with RCA

  7. Her Carreer • March 20 – Radio release of "True Lies," Sara’s first single with RCA • July 1 – Release date of Three Chords & the Truth album, Sara’s Debut Album • In 2001, Sara earned a music video award for her 2nd #1 hit, Born To Fly
