  4. Applying Formatting with the Font Group and the Mini Toolbar ACTIVITY 2.1 • Open FCTOslo.docx, and save as WordS2-01. • Select Oslo Fact Sheet, click Bold in Home tab, click Change Case in Font group, then click UPPERCASE at drop-down list.

Applying Formatting with the Font Group and the Mini Toolbar ACTIVITY 2.1 • Select History, then clickUnderline. • Select and underline remainingheads: Population; Commerceand Industry; Climate; Holiday,Sport, and Leisure; SightseeingTours. • Select Viking Age in paragraphbelow History head. • Point to Mini toolbar above selected text, then click Italic on Mini toolbar.

  6. Applying Formatting with the Font Group and the Mini Toolbar ACTIVITY 2.1 • Select Catholic Middle Ages in first paragraph, then click Italic on Mini toolbar. • To select entire document, click Select in Home tab then click Select All at drop-down list.

  7. Applying Formatting with the Font Group and the Mini Toolbar ACTIVITY 2.1 • Click Font arrow in Font group, hover mouse pointer over various typefaces in drop-down gallery and note how text reflects selected font. • Scroll down and click Bookman Old Style.

Using the Font Dialog Box and Format Painter; Repeating a Command ACTIVITY 2.2 • Open WordS2-01.docx, press Ctrl + Home to move insertion point to beginning of page. • Select entire document by pressingCtrl + A. • Click Font group dialog box launcher. • Click Times New Roman in Font list and click 12 in Size list. • Click down-pointing arrow atright side of Font color thenclick Black,Text 1. • Click OK to close box.

Using the Font Dialog Box and Format Painter; Repeating a Command ACTIVITY 2.2 • Select History, then click Font group dialog box launcher. • Click Arial in Font list,click Bold in Font stylelist, then click 14 inSize box. • Click down-pointing arrow at right side of Underline style option, then click (none) at drop-down list. • Click OK to close, then deselect heading.

Using the Font Dialog Box and Format Painter; Repeating a Command ACTIVITY 2.2 • Click once on any character in History, then double-click Format Painter inHome tab. • Scroll down document andselect Population. • Select individually remainingheads: Commerce andIndustry; Climate; Holiday,Sport, and Leisure; andSightseeing Tours. • Click once on Format Painter in Clipboard group to turn off Format Painter.

  17. Aligning and Indenting Text ACTIVITY 2.3 • Open WordS2-01.docx, position insertion point on any character in OSLO FACT SHEET, then click Center in Home tab. • Select from middle of firstparagraph below Historyhead to middle of thirdparagraph, then click Justify.

First Line Indent Left Indent Hanging Indent Right Indent Aligning and Indenting Text ACTIVITY 2.3 • Select 3 paragraphs below History head then click Align Text Left. • Position mouse pointer onLeft Indent marker on Ruler,hold down left mouse button,drag marker to 0.5-inch mark then release. • Position mouse pointer on FirstLine Indent marker on Ruler, holddown left mouse button, then dragmarker to 1-inch mark on Ruler.

Aligning and Indenting Text ACTIVITY 2.3 • Position mouse pointer on Right Indent marker on Ruler, hold down left mouse button, then drag marker to 6-inch mark on Ruler. • Click anywhere in paragraphbelow Population head. • Click Page Layout tab, in Indent section click in Left box, then type 0.5. • Click up-pointing arrow at right side of Right text box to display 0.5".

Aligning and Indenting Text ACTIVITY 2.3 • Follow previous steps to indent paragraphs below heads: Commerce and Industry; Climate; Holiday, Sport, and Leisure; Sightseeing Tours. • Select three paragraphsbelow History then clickParagraph dialogbox launcher. • Click down-pointing arrowat right side of Special boxthen click Hanging. • Click OK to close. • Save WordS2-01.docx.

  22. Aligning Text • Change text alignment with keyboard shortcuts: • To align left, use Ctrl + L • To center, use Ctrl + E • To align right, use Ctrl + R • To justify, use Ctrl + J

  23. Indenting Text • Indent text with keyboard shortcuts: • To indent text from left margin, use Ctrl + M • To decrease indent from left margin, use Ctrl + Shift + M • To create hanging indent, use Ctrl + T • To remove hanging indent, use Ctrl + Shift + T

  24. Changing Line and Paragraph Spacing ACTIVITY 2.4 • Open WordS2-01.docx, and to select entire document press Ctrl + A. • Click Line Spacing inHome tab then click 1.5. • Deselect text, then scrollthrough document. • To decrease line spacing to1.2, press Ctrl + A to selectentire document.

Changing Line and Paragraph Spacing ACTIVITY 2.4 • Click Line Spacing, then click Line Spacing Options. • Type 1.2 in At box inSpacing section, clickOK to close, thendeselect text. • Select from line of textbeginning Tour 1: MiniCruise through threelines of text aboutTour 4: SelectedOslo Sightseeing. • Click Line Spacing, then click 1.0. 1.2

Changing Line and Paragraph Spacing ACTIVITY 2.4 • Press Ctrl + End to move insertion point to end of document then click anywhere in last sentence. • Click Line Spacing, thenclick Add Space BeforeParagraph. • Press Ctrl + Home to moveinsertion point to beginningof document, click anywherein History head, then clickParagraph dialog boxlauncher.

Changing Line and Paragraph Spacing ACTIVITY 2.4 • Click once on up-pointing arrow at right side of After box, then click OK to close. • Click in Population head and click PageLayout tab. • Click once on up-pointing arrow at rightside of Spacing After button . • Click in Commerce and Industry, thenpress F4 to repeat paragraph spacing command. • Click individually in each of remaining heads, then press F4.

  28. Changing Line and Paragraph Spacing ACTIVITY 2.4 • To remove hanging indent on paragraphs in History section, select text below History head, and press Ctrl + Shift + T. • Save, print, and close WordS2-01.docx.

Inserting Bullets and Numbering ACTIVITY 2.5 • Open FCTRailTravel.docx then save asWordS2-02. • Select text Have your passvalidated through paragraphBe at the right train stationthenclick Numbering inHome tab. • Position insertion point at end of second numbered paragraph, then pressEnter once. • Type Arrive 20 minutes before train departure time.

Inserting Bullets and Numbering ACTIVITY 2.5 • Select text from Rail Passes through Greece-Italy, click Multilevel List button, then click middle option in top row in ListLibrary section. • With text selected,change numbers tobullets by clickingMultilevel Listbutton. • Click first option from left in middle row in List Library section then deselect text. • Save and print WordS2-02.docx.

Inserting Symbols and Special Characters ACTIVITY 2.6 • Open Word S2-02.docx, move insertion point to end of document, then select and delete multiple-level bulleted text. • With insertion point at end of document a double space below bulleted text, type text shown up to Å symbol. • To insert Å symbol, click Insert tab,click Symbol button, then clickMore Symbols at bottom of palette.

To insert ® character click Symbol button then click More Symbols. • At Symbol box, click SpecialCharacters tab. • Click ® character, click Insert button,then click Close. • Type remaining text and saveWordS2-02.docx.

Setting Tabs ACTIVITY 2.7 • Open WordS2-02.docx and move insertion point a double space below last paragraph of text. • Type International Airports with Train Connections then press Enter twice. • Make sure left tab symbol displays in Alignment button at left side of Ruler. • Position arrow below 1-inch mark on Ruler, then click left mouse button.

  38. Setting Tabs ACTIVITY 2.7 • Click once on Alignment button to display center tab symbol. • Position arrow below 3.25-inch mark on Ruler then click left mouse button.

  40. Setting Tabs ACTIVITY 2.7 • Type text shown, press Tab before typing each tabbed entry and be sure to press Tab before typing entry in first column and bold text in first row. • After typing last entry, press Enter twice, then click Clear Formatting button in Home tab. • Save WordS2-02.docx.

Setting Tabs with Leaders ACTIVITY 2.8 • Open WordS2-02.docx then move insertion point to end of document. • Click Alignment button at left side of Ruler to display left tab symbol . • Position arrow below 1-inch mark on Ruler, then click left mouse button. • Click Alignment button at left side of Ruler to display right tab symbol . • Position arrow below 5.5-inch mark on Ruler, then click left mouse button.

  42. Setting Tabs with Leaders ACTIVITY 2.8 • To type heads shown, press Tab, click Bold, then type Airport. • Press Tab, then type Service. • Press Enter once, then click Clear Formattingto remove bold and paragraph tab formatting.

Setting Tabs with Leaders ACTIVITY 2.8 • Set left tab and right tab with leaders at Tabs dialog box. • Click Paragraph dialog box launcher then click Tabs in lower left corner. • Be sure Left is selected inAlignment section, and withinsertion point in Tab stopposition box, type 1, thenclick Set.

  46. Adding Borders and Shading ACTIVITY 2.9 • Open WordS2-02.docx, select numbered paragraphs, then click Border arrow in Home tab. • Click Outside Borders at drop-down list.

  47. Adding Borders and Shading ACTIVITY 2.9 • Select bulleted paragraphs then click Border in Paragraph group. • Select text with heads Country,City, and Airport through textwith entries Italy, Rome, andFiumicino. • Click Border arrow then clickBorders and Shading.

Adding Borders and Shading ACTIVITY 2.9 • To add same border and shading to other columns, select text with heads Airport and Service through text entries Fiumicino and Train every 10 to 20 minutes, then press F4. • To apply shading to title move insertion point to Traveling in Europe by Train click Shading arrow, then click Aqua, Accent 5, Lighter 80%.
