  19. REQUIREMENT OF PRIMARY & UPPER PRIMARY FOR THE YEAR 2011-12. Projected Enrolment • (Primary + EGS) - 2,10,000 • (Upp. Pry)- 50,000 • No. of working days - 227 • Cooking Assistance in Lakh (Pry) - Rs.1334.76 Lakh ( Upp. Pry ) - Rs. 475.57 Lakh • Foodgrains (Pry) - 4767.00 MTs. (Upp. Pry) - 1702.50 MTs • Cost of foodgrains - Rs. 365.53 Lakh • Cooks Honorarium - Rs.588.96 Lakh.

  20. RECOMMENDATIONS BY SSMC • SSMC meeting held on 17th May 2012, has approved the proposal for the Year 2012-13. • Finance Deptt. agreed to work out a mechanism to release funds in time as suggested by MHRD. • Decided to include Local Clubs at village level monitoring teams. And also to engage competent contract staffs to oversee the implementation of the scheme at different levels.

  21. Contd. • NRHM, Manipur, admitted to start School Health programme in 700 schools and informed that 109 teachers have been trained as master trainers to assist effective implementation. • SSMC recommended to use Local Rice. • Recommended to revise the transportation charges as in the hilly terrains the rice is carried by head loads.

  22. ISSUES and CHALLANGES • Introduction of IVRS to monitor children attendance is felt necessary. • More attention to ensure Health Check-up of the children. • Cooking Cost needs to release in advance. • Needs to introduce Gas based cooking device. • Capacity building both at District and Lower levels. • Foodgrain Godowns at District Level.

  23. MEASURES AND ACHIEVEMENTS • Block Level Vigilance committees have been constituted and the scheme is being monitored. • Printouts, incorporating different aspects of MDM scheme, have been distributed for getting feedback from people at village to State levels. • Releasing of funds from Directorate to SMDCs (School Management & Development Committees) account through e-transfer is being continued.
