Studios and there creations • DreamWorks was formed on October 12th 1994 by director and producer Steven Spielberg, music executive David Geffen, and former Disney executive Jeffrey Katzenberg. • DreamWorks partnered with Aardman Animations to produce five feature films, including Chicken Run, which has a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes with an average rating of 8/10# • DreamWorks has released 22 feature films including, Shrek, Madagascar, Over the Hedge and Bee Movie

Studios and there creations Aardman is a British animation studio The studio is known for films made using stop-motion clay animation techniques, particularly those featuring Plasticine characters Wallace and Gromit. Aardman has had many successful animations other than Wallace and Gromit such as the TV series Creature Comforts and Shaun the Sheep. Aardman currently working on raving Rabbids which is a spin off series out off the very popular game Rayman.

  3. Different types of animation • Stop Motion – This is done by manipulating real word items and then taking a photo. After many photos have been taken they are played quickly and it then looks like the object is moving on its own. A good example of this would be the popular TV series Wallace and Gromit which was done by using clay figures. A simpler example would be this .gif of a coin http://tinyurl.com/ylqkj2u • Computer Animation 2D – An example of a 2D animation would be a transition on a PowerPoint, 2D animation techniques tend to focus on image manipulation • Computer Animation 3D – 3D Animation is digitally modelled and manipulated by an animator. It is given a digital skeleton so that it can be controlled. Toy Story was the first feature length film rendered completely in 3D.

  4. Well known animated films • Toy Story is a computer-animated film released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is Pixar's first feature film as well as the first ever feature film to be made entirely with CGI (Computer Generated Imagery).

Well known cartoon characters There have been many successful cartoons that are still being produced today such as Tom and Jerry which was first produced in 1940 which is about a Cat (Tom) always trying to catch Mouse (Jerry) but rarely achieves this due to Jerry’s clever plans. Road runner and Wile E. Coyote is also another famous cartoon which was made in 1949. It consist of Wile E. Coyote making elaborate plans trying to catch the road runner. The road runner is recognised by the only sound it makes throughout the 46 series made “MeepMeep”

  6. Animation technology • Cinema 4D is a 3D modelling, animation and rendering application developed by MAXON . It is capable of procedural and polygonal/subdmodeling, animating, lighting, texturing, rendering, and common features found in 3d modelling applications.
