  1. Reflection Questions Jason Gagnier Period 3 For Advert

  2. How does the product (advert) use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? • My advert challenges the conventions of a traditional adverts because unlike many other adverts mine does give some famous slogan or saying at the end. Companies like McDonalds’ ”I'm loving it” or Subway’s “Eat Fresh” use these catchy slogans to keep their products in the mind of their customers. However, my advert doesn't do this. Additionally, my advert represents the social group that is always making trips to the bathroom. Those that love to eat but hate having to deal with the gassy side affects. My advert addresses the problems that many have when it comes to Nausea, Heartburn, Indigestion, Upset Stomach and Diarrhea.

  3. How does your project engage with audience and how would it be distributed as a real media text? • My advert would engage with those who have found them selves in a similar situation. Anyone who has eaten something and then felt the coming symptoms of stomach pains will sympathies with the main character in the advert. This advert, like most adverts would be distributed to T.V providers to be played during the ad slots in between popular T.V shows. Also, my advert can be distributed to platforms like YouTube to be played in the ad slot at the beginning of videos. It would also be played during T.V shows that would relate to the product like cooking shows or the Food Network channel.

  4. How did your production skills develop throughout this project? • Since the last project my production skills did not improve very much. I was able to finish the storyboard for my advert quite quickly but the scenes were poorly drawn and only me and my partner was able to understand what was going on in the scene. However, my editing skills did improve. At the end of filming there was around one minute of extra footage. I was able to cut and paste scenes to how I like them and was able to make it fit into the thirty second time slot. I added transitions to end my advert so that it smoothly finished.

  5. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware, and online in this project? I used various types of technology to help me create this advert. Before I even started any of the planning for the project, I used google to find products that I might of wanted to use for my advert. During the filming process, I used a simple film recorder and tripod to help gather the shots I needed for the advert. In the editing process, I used Pinnacle studios to to help piece my clips together to create the final product. Through out the whole process I blogged my progress on WordPress.
