  3. Altitude Sickness • Altitude sickness has many other names, such as: • Acute mountain sickness (AMS) • Altitude illness • Hypobaropathy • Soroche

The Sickness • This sickness occurs when the oxygen outside of your body has a lower pressure than the air in your bodybecause of the high altitude. • Lack of appetite, nausea, or vomiting • Fatigue or weakness • light-headedness • Insomnia • Pins and needles • Shortness of breath upon exertion • Nosebleed • Persistent rapid pulse • Drowsiness • General malaise • Peripheral edema (swelling of hands, feet, and face). • Diarrhea

  5. This shows how the body has to keep things inside of the body working when faced with problems that are surrounding it.

  6. This also shows that sometimes that can be a tedious task and the body can't always keep you in tip top shape.
