  2. 1 Corinthians 12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ As one body, each one of us parts has responsibility to work collaboratively for the continued success of our body.

Stats! 245 Students, PreK-8 153 ACTIVE, SUPPORTIVE families 87% diversity Representing 10 Rainbow parishes 35% of our students from St. George parish 44% of our K-8 students received tuition assistance of some amount 33 staff members 5 buildings with yards….only 2 custodians! 30 staff members, 21 are full time

Facilities work since Spring, 2013 New drop down ceiling in the hallways and stairwells New lighting in the hallways, stairwells and playground Main school building repainted inside New carpeting in the main school hallways A new “sick” couch for the kids and chairs for parents in the foyer New roof on the portables Repainted computer lab and stairwell to library along with library hallway Sue Byrd stencil on the Sue Byrd Court

Restricted Grants: funds earned by staff that are used to augment our programming and are outside of our approved budget. 2012-13 Fulcrum $25,000 for lighting/ceiling upgrade, $4,000 for tuition assistance Star Grant for $1,500 for library backpack for primary class Hovind Scholars used in13/14 $25,000 for tuition assistance O’Callahan Technology Grant $26,000 for student laptops GarneauNicon Foundation $8,000 for ceiling upgrade NaturBrideOPI- $2,700/8th TOTAL: $98,500 2013-14 Fulcrum $25,000 for technology upgrade Amici $2,500 in books, science lab equipment HovindScholars for 14/15 $20,000 tuition assistance GarneauNicon Foundation $45,000 for technology upgrade BECU- $2,500 for Lego/Robotics NaturBridge- $2,100/8th TOTAL: $97,100

  7. The Class of 2014 85% of our 8th graders will go on to Catholic high schools. 100% of the students who applied to a Catholic high school were accepted. Several accepted with academic honors and/or academic scholarships. One awesome compliment: You have great kids! BBHS 1 Alum First Honors, 6 Alums Second Honors WE ARE ST. GEORGE!

  8. 2014-15 Budgetary Considerations Keeping teachers at 95% of the 2013-15 state scale 12% increase in health benefits for full time staff In January 2014, we added a third staff member to our Extended Care program per parents request from Accreditation Survey Catching up on deferred maintenance issues…doors and windows, painting, student desk replacement Potential part time Instructional Aide 4th & 5th per parent request ???? Part time Development Director…help with Fundraising

  10. Extended Care Program • In our fall Parent MonkeySurvey, we were asked to look at options for more help in Extended Care. We hired a third person on January 6, 2014 at no extra cost to families using this service. Parents also asked for more After School Club options. • Changes for next year • $3.50 per hour whether you are in Extended Care, Study Hall or a club…prorated on the ½ hour. Paid monthly based on use. No more Study Hall passes or club fees outside of materials. • Teachers will not be subsidizing Extended Care Fees next year with $1 study halls. Instead some will start clubs: Lego, robotics, knitting, yearbook, choir and more ideas to come. Kids commit to a club, go to Extended Care program or home. No bouncing around in clubs between trimesters. • Study Hall will run Monday-Thursdays 3:00-4:00 (Wed 2:00-3:00) at Extended Care rates for all students Grades K-8. Friday is a No Study Hall day.

Current Wait lists for 2014: Kinder, 1st, 4th, 5th 7th 27 is our cap, unless there are extenuating circumstances we may go to 28 Lots of tours for other classrooms…the main reason they are checking us out is word of mouth from parents. The #1 comment that drew them here: It feels like a family! Technology upgrades over the next 8 months: wireless network, staff hardware, software, student computers in Extended Care for homework and approved educational games only, more integrate of iPads and technological tools in the curriculum Accreditation Visit in the late Fall, 2014

Registration Deadlines Feb 28 - March 7th for current families March 10th-14th for Rainbow Parish Families March 17thopen enrollment to all until spaces fill Thank you for all you do in building a highly effective school community for kids….and us adults!
