What Is SEO? • Search Engine Optimization is the process of making a website and it’s content as easily searchable as possible and the words to describe it effective! • Preparing for Local Search is the first priority, i.e. Google Places, Merchant Circle, Yelp, etc… • Local Keyword Research is essential – Use Google Keyword Tool. Google and other search engines puts much importance on relevant content, thus content should be developed around keywords!

  3. What to focus on for SEO? CONTENT High value content when used in conjunction with good keyword research is the best way to drive internet traffic to your site and keep your visitors on your site. For Tracking Use: Google Traffic Google Analytics • Title Tags – “name…city…service…” • Header Tags – Use local terms; importance lowers from H1 to H3 • Address – Consistency is key! Place address & phone number on every single page, formatted the same throughout the internet. • Page Names – When possible, use local search terms in the actual page name. • Contact Us Page – Use hCard format; include Google Map, business hours, payment options, etc…

  4. Meta TagsBetter Tags = Better Search Results • Meta tags are keywords or descriptions that are in the background of your website which makes the title of your business or what you do searchable on the web. • Example:

  5. Other SEO Tips *Achieve better results when targeting one keyword THEME per page and fewer keywords. *Use, verify, optimize, or correct all local directories to validate local internet presence! * Be sure to include links on primary pages to secondary pages, or sites, and vice versa!
