  2. Allies or Enemies: • Megara’s enemies are Athens and Sparta.

  3. God or Goddess: • The god representing Megara, according to my research, is Apollo, God Of The Sun. • Apollo also ripped out a cow’s intestines, grabbed a turtle shell, and made himself a lyre! Cool, right?!

  4. Jobs in the Polis: • Trading was big part of the economy and there was a lot of merchants and traders. • There was a lot of farmers in Megara. So they had flour, olive oil and wine. • There was a lot of famous buildings in Megara. So there was a lot of builders and architects .

Famous Individual and accomplishment: • One great Megarian of the sixth century BCE was Eupalinos-one of the greatest engineers of ancient Greece he designed and oversaw the building of an amazing 3,432-foot tunnel through a mountain on the island of Samos. • Also, in 630 BCE Theagenes,a powerful aristocrat, came forward to denounce the rich and lead the many poor.

  7. Polis Accomplishments: • Beat both Athens and Sparta in battle • Founded philosophical school of Megara • Minted own coins
