  1. The World Today • Why all the lies and deceptions? • How can I have hope? • What can I do? • Where do I go?

  2. They Shall All Know Me Our Foundation Series

  3. Everlasting Gospel - EGW • The message proclaimed by the angel flying in the midst of heaven is the everlasting gospel, the same gospel that was declared in Eden when God said to the serpent, "I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel" (Gen. 3:15).

  4. Everlasting Gospel - EGW • Here was the first promise of a Saviour who would stand on the field of battle to contest the power of Satan and prevail against him. Christ came to our world to represent the character of God as it is represented in His holy law;for His law is a transcript of His character.

  5. Everlasting Gospel - EGW • Christ was both the law and the gospel. The angel that proclaims the everlasting gospel proclaims the law of God; for the gospel of salvation brings men to obedience of the law, whereby their characters are formed after the divine similitude. {2SM 106.2}

  6. Jeremiah 31:34 • And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. (Jer 31:34 KJV)

  7. Questions • How does one get to Know God? • Why can I trust Him? • Why does He not do something?

  8. How does one get to know God? • A reasonable question. Then a reasonable answer must be found in the Bible. There must be proof that it and He are real. There has to be a way to show that the Bible can be trusted. Therefore the Bible must be its own interpreter. Can it be answered in one simple answer? No, the answer is a process. Just as developing a relationship with a spouse or a friend is a process. Trust, understanding, love all this and more is a process.

  9. Why Can I Trust Him? • Why can you trust your spouse, your best friend? By experience and to step out in faith. Yes, even developing a friendship with someone is a step in faith.

  10. Why does He not do something? • This is an age old question. Why does not God do something. Just as a parent, or a friend will cannot interfere with your decisions, God does not interfere with ours unless we ask Him. Our problem is believing that He has answered our prayers, our challenge is accepting the way He has done so.

  11. Foundation Series The Process

  12. The Process • In order to Trust someone there has to be something that will give you confidence that the person is trust worthy. There has to be some type of evidence. Hence, there has to be something in the Bible that will show it is consistent. That He (God) is for real.

  13. Malachi 3:6 • For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.(Mal 3:6 KJV) • God is telling us that He does not change. If he does not change there must be a evidence of this changelessness in scripture.

  14. Changelessness • Furthermore this evidence must be in the beginning and throughout Scripture that He is giving us the same message. So the logical place to start would be in the beginning with the book of Genesis, the Ten Commandments and then in Revelation.

  15. Evidence • In Genesis, since it is the beginning of the book. • In Exodus since it gives us God’s Law which He expects us to keep and which we should if He is our God. • Revelation, since it is the last book it must have the same message as the others. • Since the book of Genesis and Revelation were written 100’s of years apart & by different Authors, this should be our proof.

  16. Evidence • We will start with Genesis 3:15. Why there? Because this is after Adam and Eve had sinned and a promise was given. In that promise we should have the basic concepts all spelled out that we will find throughout scripture. The same message no matter where we go, it should be evident. This should give us the evidence by which we can build our trust in God.

  17. Genesis 3:15 • And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. (Gen 3:15 KJV)

  18. Ten Commandments • In God’s law there must be a message that will reflect His statement in Genesis 3:15. If it does not, He is not consistent and cannot be trusted. If it is, then we know he can be trusted. In order to do that we need to examine each of the Commandments and in fact we base our study on this verse from Matthew 22:36-39

  19. Matthew 22: 36-39 • Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (KJV)

  20. 1st Commandment • I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Exo 20:2-3 KJV)

  21. 2nd Commandment • Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. (Exo 20:4-6 KJV)

  22. 3rd Commandment • Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. (Exo 20:7 KJV)

  23. 1st Commandment • I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Exo 20:2-3 KJV)

  24. 3 Angels Message • Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. (Rev 14:7 KJV)
