  2. Chatham County is the northernmost of Georgia's six coastal counties. Named for William Pitt the Elder, earl of Chatham, it was formed out of Christ Church Parish and St. Phillip Parish in 1777. • It is the fifth oldest county in Georgia and is the home of Savannah, which serves as the county seat. • Although Georgia was originally planned as a colony with no slaves, Savannah and Chatham County became a port for the importing of slaves after 1750 • The port of Savannah was also used to ship cotton, naval stores, and other trade goods. • After the war Chatham County grew in population along with Savannah, which became one of the South's most important ports. • Modern Chatham County is an important industrial and transportation center. • Major companies like International Paper and Kerr-McGee have plants in the county. • According to the 2010 U.S. census, the population of Chatham County is 265,128, an increase from the 2000 population of 232,048.   3. It was founded by Keiara Minisee. • Dipsy was founded on Sept. 20, 2000. • The main town in the city is Niles. • The population is 2,000 people. • The city mayor is Kaden Minisee. • Its between the cities of Thunderbolt and Savannah. History of my city: Dipsy

  4. .In the town of Niles there are 5 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, 5 high schools, and 3 colleges. • Our school Superintendent is AnnaMarie Deaux. • CRCT, EOCT, GHSGT, GAA, Writing Assessments, are all test we take in our schools. Schools

  5. In Niles, there are a lot of fun activities. • There is the Niles Aquarium, The Zoo, Niles center for puppetry arts. There are also roller rinks, bowling alleys and Amusement parks. • There are Country clubs for adults and families. • And since we are close to the beach there is a lot of swimming during the summer. Recreation

  6. In my town our family life is normal, there are single parent families and double parent families. • All of our single parent families, have support if they are having hard times. • The divorce rate in our town is 10%. Family Life
