History of hockey world wide • Hockey has been played for hundreds even thousands of years • It didn’t have many rules till 1800’s and it wasn’t played on ice till the 1800’s much • It originated off of field hockey • Many places played the field hockey version and some did play on ice • Rules were drafted by McGill university in Montreal, Canada

  4. History of hockey in Germany • Hockey arrived in Germany around 1900 in Berlin • The first German club was Berliner Schlittschuhclub • In 1910 there was 10 teams in Berlin • The first time Germany competed in the Olympics in 1928. They finished 9th that year
