The Climate in Australia ( page 692 map) •  Is mostly dry desert or grassland • The northern climate is tropical with rainy and dry seasons and warm or hot temperatures. • The coastal areas have warm summers and mild winters • The mountains have freezing winter temperatures The animals of Australia are unique because they have been isolated from the other continents of the world for millions of years.
