Here are some samples of my work A sample video tutorial • http://www.screencast.com/users/BBaydoun/folders/Jing/media/ce859818-1de8-4515-b846-fb97e88a1e66 An interactive webpage • http://baydoub.weebly.com/ My work portfolio • https://ctools.umich.edu/osp-presentation-tool/viewPresentation.osp?id=90C9D61F35CC6349C5DB0F4E90C797CA

  3. Step One - Three • Investigate if Manhattan has a technology plan. • Investigate If Manhattan has a technology planning committee. • Review theprofessional development section of the technology plan to identify a focus area for possible professional development activities.

  4. Steps Four - Eight • Determine the school's current level of technology use. •  Identify if the school’s current level of technology use is determined. • Conduct both informal and formal needs assessments to determine priorities for professional development activities. • Survey • Identify a group of teachers who are interested in the professional development activities. This can be an individual teacher, a small group of teachers, or entire body of teachers at the school or district. Names of individuals interested and topics interested in • For the identified focus area, assess each targeted individual teacher's level of technology competency who will be participating in the professional development activities.

  5. Goal of PD • Identify the goal of professional development such as • to implement new teaching techniques, • to help students work collaboratively and develop higher-order thinking skills, • to encourage students to be engaged in the learning process, • to assist students who have various learning styles, • And to expose students to a broad range of information, tools and experts.

  6. Tools • MapWing is a tool you can use to create a variety of different kinds of virtual tours by using images to guide students through a designated pathway.  These tours don't always have to be geographical in nature as the samples I have included below will demonstrate.

  7. 8. Tools • Google Custom Search Engine: You can also create your own custom search engine using Google's Custom Search Engine tool.  This tool allows you to pick what websites you want included in a search, which means you can identify sites that are at an appropriate reading level, have accurate information, aren't blocked by school filters and meet any other criteria you want to use.

  9. Tools • Diigo:  This is a great tool for social bookmarking.  You can learn more about social bookmarking by watching the video Social Bookmarking in Plain English.  The video focuses on Delicious as the social bookmarking tool of choice but I prefer Diigo because they offer free premium accounts to Educators.  The best part about these educator accounts is that you can create accounts for your students to use without needing to include e-mail addresses for each account.  That is very cool!  I would encourage you to check out the tour of Diigo to learn more about this great tool.  Remember though, that the tutorial wasn't created specifically for k12 students, so there may be some things that seem too complex or unnecessary for your particular students.

  10. Tools • Jing (free)http://www.jingproject.com/ • Jing is made by the same people who created Camtasia so as a screen capture tool it works quite well.  You don't get any of the additional features of the other tools so adding callouts, transitions, titles and other special effects isn't possible.  You are also limited in the output format but it might still be a good option because of it's simplicity.

  11. Check Out this Edmodo poll • Please vote on which tool you would want to learn more about. I have provided various forms of surveys for your convenience. I would recommend filling out the 1st and the last. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FM6D7BJ • http://www.edmodo.com/baydoun Here is the code to join the Edmodo: rxnzet EDT 531/Initial Technology Need Survey.docx
