  3. Reason Why The English crown intended Georgia to serve as a buffer to protect the valuable Carolinas from vengeful Spaniards in Florida and the French in Louisiana Suffered much “buffering” when war broke out between Spain and England

  4. Important Founder Of the founders of Georgia, the most able was soldier-statesman James Oglethorpe . He was a competent military leader who was able to repel Spanish attacks. He saved the “Charity Colony” by his energetic leadership and by heavily mortgaging his own personal fortune.
