  1. Requirement Study National Biofertilizer Development Centre & its Regional Centres By Agricultural Informatics Division National Informatics Centre Department of Information Technology Ministry of Communications and Information Technology

  2. What is Biofertilizer Biofertilizers or Bio~inoculants popularly known as “TEEKA” are totally harmless, pollution free and low-cost renewable agricultural input, which are capable of fixing nitrogen, solubilising phosphorus, activating & mobilizing other plant nutrients and making available growth promoting substances ( Vitamines, auxims, and harmones ) for use of the growing plants.

  3. Organizational Setup • Under the National Project on Biofertiliser Development and Use, National Biofertiliser Development Centre (NDBC) at Ghaziabad and its six Regional (Biofertiliser Development) Centres (RBDS) were established and functioning as subordinate office of the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation under the Administrative control of Fertiliser Division.

  4. Organisational Setup List of Biofertilizer Centres: NBDC Ghaziabad RBDC Hissar (Northern Region) RBDC Jabalpur (Central Region) RBDC Bangalore (Southern Region) RBDC Bhubaneshwar (Eastern Region) RBDC Nagpur (Western Region) RBDC Imphal (North Eastern States)

  5. Major Objectives and activitiesof NBDC andRBDCs(6) • To ensure development and promotion different types of Biofertilizers/ micro-organsisms and Blue, Green, Algae. • To evolve standards for biofertilizers (BF); standardize testing methodology and quality control; • To standardise doses and techniques of BFs application for different crops • Demonstrations for awareness on BF and • Training.
