  2. Pronoun • A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun or nouns.

  3. Remember • A noun is a person, place, or thing. • You add an “s” to most nouns if you are talking about more than one.

  4. Pronouns to Know • he • she • it • we • you • they

  5. Caution • He, she, and it take the place of just one noun. • We and they take the place of more than one noun. • You takes the place of just one noun or more than one noun if you are referring to a group.

  6. Example • Belle greeted the family at the castle. • becomes • She greeted the family at the castle. • Belle is replaced with the pronoun she.

  7. Example • The town crier is with Cheryl. • becomes • He is with Cheryl. • The town crier is replace with the pronoun he.

  8. Example • The sign was so funny to read. • becomes • It was so funny to read. • The sign is replaced with the pronoun it.

  9. Example • Colin and Christian love to have breakfast with Pooh. • becomes • They love to have breakfast with Pooh. • Colin and Christian are replaced with the pronoun they.

  10. Example • The class loved the trip. • becomes • We loved the trip. • The class is replaced with the pronoun we.

  11. Example • Renee said, “Grady you are going to Disney World!” • becomes • Renee said, “You are going to Disney World!” • Grady is replaced with the pronoun you.
