Our History. St Charles School, Ryde, commenced in 1858 The first teachers were lay teachers.The Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart (Brown Josephites) and an Australian Order founded by Mother Mary MacKillop taught in the school from 1883-1891.The Sisters of Mercy also worked in the school
