Quiz review

Having the same size and shape

congruent

• The figure formed by two rays with a common endpoint

angle

• A point of a line that starts at one endpoint and extends forever

ray

A perfectly flat surface that extends infinitely in all directions

Plane

An exact location in space, it is usually represented as a dot, but it has no size

Point

A part of a line between 2 endpoints

Line segment

On an angle or polygon, the point where two sides intersect

Vertex

A straight path that extends without end in opposite directions

Line

A movement (slide) of a figure along a straight line

Translation

• A change in the position or orientation of a figure

Transformation

• A transformation of a figure that flips the figure across a line.

Reflection

A plane formed by the intersection of a horizontal number line (x – axis) and a vertical line (y-axis)

Coordinate Plane

• A transformation of a figure in which a figure is turned around a point

Rotation

Reflect the triangle over the y-axis and give the coordinates of the reflected image.
