The Polar Express (Grades K-2, Level N) By Chris Van Allsburg (E VAN) also available for Kindle and Nook A magical train ride on Christmas Eve takes a boy to the North Pole to receive a special gift from Santa Claus. Eve of the Emperor Penguin (Grades 2-4, Level M) By Mary Pope Osborne --also available for Kindle and Nook Jack and Annie get a rhyme that says they must go to a burning mountain of ice and snow.
