  2. Aims of the session • To provide an overview of the forthcoming appointee recruitment opportunities for your teaching staff • To confirm the nomination process for Year 2 of Verification • To promote the benefits of having appointees and nominees in your school teams

  3. Who are Appointee Management? • Provide the business with fully trained appointees to meet business needs • Attract and retain high performing appointees • Manage the appointment process, associated systems and communications with appointees • Manage selection criteria, contract specifications and Key Performance Measures for all appointee roles • Maintain a fee structure which is fair and consistent across appointee types

  4. Recruitment Process • Adverts are posted on web-site with associated links to information need to make an application • Interactive application form with link to contract specification and selection criteria

  5. CFE Appointee Opportunities • Recruitment for New CFE Opportunities starts 25 August 2014 • Opportunities at all qualification levels • All information on line at www.sqa.org.uk/cfevacancies

  7. Appointee Opportunities • Senior appointee roles require a reference from Head of Centre • Where release is required this will be obtained at the time of application and is not retrospective • Markers still require one day release for marker meetings

  8. Appointee Opportunities • Marker recruitment is on going all year • Focus on Higher markers • Mark at the level they are currently teaching • Aim to create ‘reserve marker lists’ • Markers can choose to mark specific papers • E-marking in new qualifications

Nominee Recruitment for Year 2 • During June 2014 - commence issue of Nominee Lists to Local Authority contacts (follow up by CFE Customer Support Managers) • Includes Team Leaders, Senior Team Leaders and Principal Verifiers • By Exception - Request removal of Nominees no longer teaching or no longer with the Local Authority

  10. Nominee Recruitment for Year 2 • Return spreadsheets by end of July 2014 at latest • Provide details of replacements – by exception • Use ‘additional nominees’ tab for requesting additional nominees

  11. Nominee Recruitment for Year 2 • No on-line processing for LAs this year • Access SQA Connect to see changes later in the year • Promote ‘Save the Date’ for Nominee training events

  12. Nominee Training for Year 2 • Understanding Standards for National 1 and 2 and National 3 – 5 Tuesday 23 September 2014 • Care and ESOL will be held on Friday 3 October 2014

  13. Nominee Training for Year 2 • Understanding Standards for Higher Monday 10 November 2014 • Understanding Standards events support nominees who in turn support centres – Is your centre getting the benefit?

  14. Nominee Training for Year 2 • 2 plus 2 days training for nominees • Understanding Standards events prior to Round 1 Verification in February 2015 and Round 2 Verification in May 2015
