About the Course • First in the series of 3 technology courses required by the QUEST program. • Focused on resource-finding, standards, hands-on technology activities, and SKILL BUILDING. • Culminating Activities: Family Technology Night • Syllabus • CUIN 3111 Syllabus: Review for course expectations. • Point System for Grading: Detailed rubrics, due dates, and assignment points will be available from within the assignment on BlackBoard Vista About

Classroom Expectations • Attendance & Punctuality • Each class: assigned seats • Class starts early & ends eventually • Participation & Professionalism • Take turns – only one of me and Joann • Respectful banter • One hour class • Expect three hours of homework (exploring) • No food/drinks – may bring a water bottle • Phone calls, texting & personal email a big no-no • (It’s all about me!) Materials • See Week 00 Handout • Flash drives (also known as pin drives, jump drives, USB drives, etc.)…for storage and backup of assignments (one drive for both 3201& 3111) • Textbook: same as CUIN 3201 • Software • Computer? (wireless connection on campuses for laptops) • Server Space (viking.coe.uh.edu/~yourlogin) • Blackboard Vista : CUIN 3201 (to find 3111) • Assignments, handouts, tutorials, resources, etc. • Assignment submission entirely through BBVista Materials

  7. Attendance: • Attendance is graded (assigned seats!) WHY IS ATTENDANCE SO IMPORTANT? • Due dates are firm (midnight on Tuesday in most cases) • Absences: Notify your instructor(s) ASAP via BBVista • Check daily for new information and assignments on BBVista • Check with a classmate to see what you missed in class Attendance
