As a retired officer, Former Major General Michael Harrison looks back to his 34 years of military service with fondness. In his career, he led many young Americans, both at home and abroad. He appreciates the privilege to have served his country with pride and honor. Since retiring, he is mulling various work options in the private sector that he hopes can make use of his leadership skills.

He salutes the men and women who worked tirelessly to ensure the region regained peace and that its citizens were able to prosper.

Regardless of the assignment, Former Major General Michael Harrison was always impressed by the resourcefulness and leadership these Soldiers displayed in combat, and he is proud to have served alongside them in his career.

Former Major General Michael Harrison - Supporting our Partnership with Japan During his 34-year career in the United States Army, Former Major General Michael Harrison was deployed on various missions and assignments at home and overseas. One of these assignments was helping the people of Japan in the recovery efforts after a devastating earthquake and tsunami struck the country on March 11, 2011. He was encouraged by the resilience of the Japanese people, which helped make their efforts more successful.
