Concrete Sequential • Hands-on information (ownership-touch) • Order and sequence • Looks for and follows direction • Sees situations in black and white • Little tolerance for distractions • See problems in discrete parts • Doers (65% of people in management) • Personality – might be hard to get along with

Abstract Sequential • Prefers presentations with substance and sequence • Prefers authority (tell them what to do – followers) • Decreased tolerance for distraction • Sees problems/tasks in “logical parts;” “sees” situations (black & white) • “See what I’m saying?” • Hard on themselves • More apt to have long term memory • Like reading; thirst for knowledge • Good math skills • Quick-tongued (lawyers)

Abstract Random • Attentive to human behavior/condition • Associates “medium” with the message • Prefers to receive information in any manner • Needs time to reflect and assimilate information • Prefers busy environment • See the “whole” situation – “The big picture” • Shades of gray • Speed readers; like a challenge; use body language and metaphorical messages; tend to talk in sentence fragments; procrastinators
