  2. Supply List • Kindle device or Kindle App • Device USB Cable • Active Amazon Account • Library Card and PIN Number

  3. Step 1 Go to our eBook website (Overdrive): http://bcls.lib.overdrive.com

  4. Step 2 Look for your eBook. You can browse through the eBook sections listed on screen, or by typing the title or author of an eBook in the “Search for” box at the top right of the screen.

  5. Select your eBook. Be sure the eBook you select is available for the Kindle. If the title states ‘Kindle devices via USB only’, have your USB cable handy. Click on the link 'Add to your eBookBag' Step 3 & 4 3 4

  6. Click ‘Proceed to Checkout’ Step 5

  7. Log into your library account with your library card number and PIN.  If you have never accessed your online account, the default PIN is ‘1234’. Step 6

  8. Step 7 Click ‘Confirm Checkout’

  9. Step 8 From your eBookBag click ‘Get for Kindle’. You will be redirected to Amazon. 

  10. Step 9 On the Amazon site click ‘Get Library Book’. This will prompt you to log into your Amazon Account. 

  11. Step 10 Log into your Amazon Account. Use the log-in information associated with your Kindle device.

  12. Step 11 Click ‘Get library book’. * If your device is connected to WIFI, this is your last step!

  13. Step 12 Plug your Kindle into the computer using your USB cable.

  14. Step 13 Select your Kindle device from the drop down menu. Then click ‘Continue’.

  15. Step 14 When prompted, save the file to ‘My Documents’ on your computer.

  16. Step 15 Open your Kindle from the ‘My Computer’ menu on your computer.

  17. Step 16 Open your ‘My Documents’ menu with your Kindle menu.

  18. Step 17 Find the title of your book in the ‘My Documents’ menu (should be an ‘.azw’ file). Click and Drag it into the ‘documents’ folder in the Kindle menu.

  19. Step 18 Safely remove the Kindle from your computer.

  20. Step 19 Open the book on your Kindle and enjoy!

Other Info • If you have WiFi in your home then you may be able to transfer the Kindle library book wirelessly • Books published by Penguin will need to be transferred using the USB cord from your computer to the Kindle. http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200505520&#nowireless • You CAN NOT listen to library eAudiobooks on a Kindle
