  4. R: Role- What role are you the student taking on? Are you the writer? The Character? The Artist?

  5. A: Audience Who you are writing it for. Who will be reading it? Think about who is the audience for the product? Other Students? Parents? Your teacher?

  6. F: Format What kind of project is it? Poem, Article, Story, Friendly Letter, Report, Observations, Journal Entry, Poster?

  7. T: Topic What is it about?

  8. RAFT's: Help us to think about our writing!

  9. Now it's time to BRAINSTORM things that we already know about our TOPIC. EET

  10. Group Topic Do Made of/ Come from Parts

  11. What group does it belong to?

  12. What do you do with it? What does it do?

  13. What does it look like? Size, shape, colour

  14. What is it made out of?

  15. What are it's parts? What parts go with it?

  16. What else do I know?

  17. Where do you find it? where would you use / see it?

  18. Let's put it all together! Think about our topic, our RAFT and everything we discovered with EET. Let's make a web and start our pre-writing process!
