  1. My Brain Biography By: Jacob Mullin Period: 2 Psychology

  2. Hypothalamus- Regulating basic drives like Drinking and Eating.

  3. Hypothalamus • When I used to live in Texas, I got heat exhaustion frequently and only for being in the sun from 30 min to 1 hour because the sun’s heat was too much for me. I had to constantly drink a lot of water or go inside to take a break. The power of water.

  4. Amygdala • Involved in emotions like fear, disgust, and anger.

  5. Amygdala • Every time I go to the Staples Center to see the Kings play, we usually have cheaper tickets (Which is fine) except for the escalator with no railing on either side. I hate escalators so we take the elevators… which are glass. Not much better in my opinion. That is the only reason I dread going to the games. I’m terrified of heights. • Ah, we meet again…

  6. Hippocampus • Involved with the formation of memories

  7. Hippocampus • I like to think I have a pretty good memory for most things but usually it’s something odd like the date I went to a concert or something similar to that. I also can remember my surroundings pretty well, even if I’ve been only once or so. • My picture while I was at the • Van Halen concert at Staples • Center. June 9, 2012. • (A few days before the Kings • Won the Stanley Cup!)

  8. Frontal Lobe • Involved in thought, planning, and movement.

  9. Frontal Lobe • Being able to properly move is important to me because, I am able to walk a great distance in New York and admire the sights. Also I’ve walked the Las Vegas Strip multiple times. It was fun to be in New York and to walk the Strip because it is so colorful and exciting. • New York New York Casino • Las Vegas, Nevada

  10. Parietal Lobe • Integrates touch and visual-spatial information

  11. Parietal Lobe • Although I’ve lived in my current house for 10 years, I still hit my knees on the edge of our ridiculous glass table in the living room occasionally because I misjudge the distance it sticks out. It leaves bruises and scratches and hurts. I’ve been avoiding it a lot lately but when I don’t, I’ll feel it later. I find that interesting because it hasn’t moved at all but I’d expect me to learn my lesson. • Accurate picture • of what I look like • after it happens

  12. Occipital Lobe • Processing Vision

  13. Occipital Lobe • I really take advantage of vision because I admire nearly everything I see like when the sun sets, expensive and beautiful cars pass by, see the expressions on my friends faces when they laugh or get angry. One of my favorite places is Colorado because of all the snow and it just seems like the mountains aren’t real just wallpaper. • Wallpaper of the Colorado • Rockies Mountain Range

  14. Temporal Lobe • Processing hearing and memory

  15. Temporal Lobe • I think I would personally be blind rather than deaf because if I could see someone’s face all the time and not know what they sound like I think would irritate me. Whereas I could make a rough picture of someone’s face by their voice maybe. Hearing is very important to me • Picture of see no evil, • hear no evil, speak no evil

  16. Motor Strip • Controlling voluntary movement

  17. Motor Strip • Without being able to move my legs, I wouldn’t have been able to play ice hockey because I wouldn’t be able to make the proper strides on skates with my feet. Also if I couldn’t move my arms/hands I couldn’t handle my hockey stick to hold and shoot. • Picture of my favorite King’s • Forward, Jarret Stoll.

  18. Somatosensory Strip • Receive and interpret touch

  19. Somatosensory Strip • If I didn’t have this strip, I wouldn’t be able to feel one of my favorite type of materials, fleece. It would just be another object that has nothing special about it. • Picture of a fleece • blanket
