  3. How is the Library set up? University Library of Columbus Note: If you have a question while you are in the library, then please stop by the Information Desk or the Reference Desk for assistance. These areas are highlighted in yellow on the map.

  4. Is there somewhere in the library that is quiet? Yes, the back parts of the library are designated quiet areas.

  5. Does the library have computers and printers? Computers - 80 available • Log on to the computers by typing IVYTECH\ before your Campus Connect user name. Then type in your Campus Connect password. Black & white printers ($.05/page) Color printers ($.25/page) Print credit ($32.50/semester in CLC) Scanners (free) Copy machines ($.10/page; cannot use with your print credit.) Adobe Creative Suite – on 8 multi-media computers

What are the Library’s hours? • During the Fall and Spring semesters: • Monday – Thursday : 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. • Friday : 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. • Saturday : 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. • Sunday : CLOSED • Hours are subject to change. The library may have different hours during breaks and holidays. Please call the library, 812-314-8703, or check the website for current hours.

  8. What sources are helpful for background information on my topic? Click either “Reference” link • Try searching for information in 2-3 sources such as: • Britannica Encyclopedia • Credo Reference • Gale Virtual Reference, etc.

  9. What are good information sources for speeches? • Definitely try: • Opposing Viewpoints (great for persuasive speeches) • 2. Academic Search Premier Click on “Articles” Then, click on “Academic Search Premier” OR Click on “Opposing Viewpoints”

How can I find good websites? • Here are some helpful tips for searching Google to easily find what you want. • Try Google Scholar for scholarly (perhaps more credible) articles. • Here is a website evaluation form that you can use to help you decide if the website you are looking at has “good”/credible information.
