  5. Once you get to the testing center… • The door to the testing center is usually kept closed to keep out noise from the hallway. • You do not need to knock; just go ahead & walk in.

  6. Inside the room • You don’t need to check in. • If you see an open computer, you can simply place your belongings on the available shelving and sit down at a computer station. • If there aren’t any open computers, wait at the indicated location or return at another time.

  7. What can I take to the computer station? • Bring your UNL student ID with you to the computer station. • No personal belongings are allowed at the computer station. This includes cell phones, calculators, mp3 players, etc. • You are required to place all bags and belongings on the available shelving.

  8. What can I take to the computer station? • Scratch paper & pencils are provided by the testing center. You may pick these up on your way to the computer station. • If you find you need either of these in the middle of the exam raise your hand and ask a proctor. • All scratch paper is collected at the end of the exam.

  9. What can I take to the computer station? • Some students find noise to be distracting (other students typing, asking questions, etc.). As such you are allowed to bring ear plugs. Earplugs are also available from the proctors. Just raise your hand & ask.

  10. At the computer station… • When you first sit down at the computer, you will see a black screen with a list of testing center rules. • Read these rules carefully. Failure to read the rules is not an excuse for not abiding by the rules. Posted on next page for easier reading.

  11. No one will know that you need help unless you let them know. Always wait for a proctor to come to you do not ask another test taker After reading the rules, click the “Accept” button. You will not be allowed to proceed until you do so.

  12. Next, a login screen appears… Make sure to enter both your FIRST and LAST NAMES When you are finished entering information, click this button. METR 140 will be listed here. Click on that link.

  13. Next, raise your hand… The proctor enters this information and clicks start for you. Once this screen comes up, raise your hand to call a proctor.

  14. You will now be taken to your Blackboard home screen. Enter the course as you normally do by clicking on the link.
