  4. EUMETSAT early availability of products • ATOVS and AVHRR Level 1 • AVHRR Early December 2006 • AMSU-A Implemented! October 31 2006 (planned: Early December 2006) • MHS Early December 2006 • HIRS/4 Mid January 2006 • IASI Level 1 End March 2007 • ASCAT Level 1 Early February 2007 • GOME-2 Level 1 End January 2007 • GRAS Level 1 Mid November 2006 • IASI Level 2 Mid April 2007 • ATOVS Level 2 Early May 2007

  5. Anomalies • GOME-2 • GOME-2 has experienced a series of anomalies related to spurious EQSOL signals. The signals may originate in the instrument, line or source. • The anomalies occur when the satellite is in the South Atlantic Anomaly. • The cause at this point is not known. The association with the SA Anomaly suggests SEUs. A workaround may involve implementing a fast recovery cycle.

  6. Anomalies (Cont.) • Data Dropouts • MHRPT data nominal • GDS data anomaly • All instrument affected – Not just AMSU-A1 & A1 • Ground tracking receiver problem • Workaround implemented • Minimize/eliminate dropouts

  7. Anomalies • NOAA AMSU-A 1B • Initial AMSU-A1 & -A2 1B data did not contain calibration coefficients • Cause by a s/w error • Problem identified and corrected by OSDPD, Friday October 27 • All AMSU-A1 & -A2 data following well
